Privacy Policy
Foil is a medication reminder app made by Trifoil Trailblazer (“we”, “us”). It is built so that your health information stays on your phone. This policy explains what the Foil app and this website do with data, in plain words.
1The short version
There is no account. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
Your medications, schedules, dose history and notes are stored only on your device. We never receive them.
Anonymous usage diagnostics are off by default and only start if you turn them on.
Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, with RevenueCat checking whether you have Foil Pro.
We do not sell data, show ads or track you across other apps or websites.
2What stays on your device
Everything you enter in Foil (medications, strengths, schedules, dose history, skip reasons, notes, refill counts and settings) is saved in the app's own storage on your device, in a local database and app storage files. It is not uploaded to our servers, because Foil has no servers that receive it.
If you have your phone's own backup turned on (iCloud Backup on iPhone, Google backup on Android), this app data is included in that backup like the data of your other apps. That backup belongs to your Apple or Google account and is governed by their terms; we have no access to it.
3Health data
No health data is sent to us, to our analytics provider or to any advertising service.
On iPhone, Foil can import medications from Apple Health. This is read-only, happens only if you choose it, and you grant access through the system's own permission screen. Imported items are stored on your device like anything else you enter. Foil never writes to Apple Health. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app.
4Optional usage diagnostics
Foil asks once whether you want to share anonymous usage diagnostics, and the answer is no until you say yes. If you turn them on, the app sends events such as which screens are opened, whether a reminder was acted on and how late, and whether onboarding was completed, so we can find bugs and improve reliability.
These events go to our analytics provider, PostHog, which processes them on our behalf on servers in the European Union or the United States. They are linked to a random identifier created on your device, never to your name, email or an account. They never include medication names, strengths, notes, skip reasons or times tied to a medication.
You can turn diagnostics off at any time in the app's settings. The legal basis is your consent.
5Purchases
Foil Pro is bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes the payment; we never see your card or payment details.
To know whether Foil Pro is active, the app uses RevenueCat, our purchase infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and your purchase status (which product, purchase and renewal dates, and store transaction identifiers). It receives no health data. RevenueCat acts as our data processor; the legal basis is the performance of our contract with you. See revenuecat.com/privacy for their policy.
6Notifications and alarms
Reminders, follow-ups and alarms are scheduled locally by your phone's operating system. Their content is created on your device and is not sent to us or through a push notification server.
7App lock and Face ID
If you turn on app lock, Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint or your passcode are checked by your phone's operating system. Foil only learns whether the check succeeded. Your biometric data never reaches the app or us.
8Exports and backups you create
When you export your data, Foil creates a file and hands it to the share sheet. Where it goes from there (a cloud drive, an email, your doctor) is your choice, and that copy is then outside our control.
9This website
pill-reminder.com has no accounts, sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider processes standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
10Children
Foil is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
11Keeping and deleting data
Data on your device stays until you delete it in the app or remove the app. Diagnostics events are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the app, at most two years. Purchase records are kept by Apple, Google and RevenueCat as required for billing and tax.
12Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, object to its processing, or withdraw consent. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, the simplest way is often to turn diagnostics off and delete the app. For any request, write to us at the address below. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
13Changes to this policy
If what Foil does with data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change ships.
